Wedding Reception Music
The different phases of the wedding reception music
One of the most important components of every wedding reception is the music that is played there. Indeed this is something that sets the tone of the evening as well as the entire occasion. However there are different phases of the wedding reception music each of which is very crucial. The various stages would include interlude, grand entrance, dinner dance, first dance, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, other special people dances and the last dance. Let us examine this issue in greater detail.
The very first stage of the wedding reception music is the interlude music. This is one that is played when the guests are arriving at the reception. Under normal circumstances there would be the playing of gentle and soft music which would be accompanied by the serving of cocktail and some other stuff. This kind of music should however not be too strong as there would be the mingling of guests. After this stage there is then the grand entrance which is the music played when the bride and the bridegroom are arriving at the occasion. At this time the rest of the guests have all arrived and taken their seats. After the couple has entered there is a general round of applause.
The next stage of the wedding reception music is the dinner music where there is once again the playing of soft music. For this phase it could be done by a harpist, a quiet band of even a DJ. This is mostly the time that people come together to socialize. What this means is that the wedding reception music at this time should not be too overpowering. There is then the first dance which is where the couple begins the dancing. It is important that they are able to choose the right kind of song. There are quite a significant number of people who prefer the slow type of music. However the entire dance should be reflective of their love for each other.
Just after the first dance for the wedding reception music would be the father-daughter dance which is normally after the first dance. Here the father would dance with the daughter who is the bride and the song is normally a slow one. There is also the mother-son dance which is danced to a quite slow one. After this there would then be time for the other special people dances. This is a time where those who are special to the couple get the chance to dance.
Lastly, you would get the final song of the evening which is a conclusion of the entire wedding reception. At this point there are a number ways you could choose with regards to the last song. Most people would prefer the slow song for everyone to dance depicting the love for each other. One could also go in for the upbeat celebration song in order to leave everybody on a high note. These phases are very important for the occasion.
